Two Month Check Up
- He weighs 11 pounds, 8 ounces and is 22 1/4 inches long. That means he has grown 4 inches in the past two months!! It also means that he is now in the 25th percentile for his weight and height.
- We were able to answer "yes" to all of the nurse's questions to make sure that Jonathan is developing normally: he smiles, turns his head to noise, grasps things handed to him, coos, responds to someone speaking to him, and lifts his head at a 45 degree angle.
- See the band-aids in Jonathan's legs? That's because he got three immunization shots. The nurse was very good and got it over quickly, but Jonathan still hated it. His legs didn't seem to bother him until after bedtime. At 11:30 p.m., he woke up screaming! All I have to say is thank goodness for infant Tylenol and father's blessings!

A Day with Jonathan
- Jonathan is usually asleep by 10:30 p.m. every night. He still sleeps in a little bed next to our bed. (Maybe when he is sleeping all the way through the night then we'll think about using the crib.)
- Jonathan wakes up about twice during the night: 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. He then sleeps for a little longer before we get up and get ready for the day. He usually has to eat again around 8:30 a.m. He then spends an hour and a half kicking and making happy noises while on a quilt on the floor. This is one of his really happy times. He always wakes up with a smile!
- Jonathan usually takes a two-hour nap from 10:00-12:00 and then is ready to eat again. He stays awake for maybe an hour and then takes another two-hour nap and eats again.
- By 3:00 or 4:00, Jonathan is ready to spend some time awake. Daddy is usually home by this time, so Jonathan hangs out with Dad for a while until he's ready for another nap and another bottle.
- In the evening, Jonathan starts to get fussy around 8:00 p.m. Sometimes he will settle down in the swing and other times, I walk around and bounce him. If he's really fussy, I can sometimes get his attention by whistling or walking outside.
- 9:00 p.m. means bath time. He's really started to enjoy his baths and kicks like crazy. After his bath, it's time for a lotion rub-down and then Jonathan gets dressed in his pajamas. He usually drinks 5 to 6 ounces at bedtime and then we rock in the rocking chair until he is very asleep.
- And then it all begins again!

Two Months Old!
This is what life is like right now:
*Jonathan eats about 4 ounces in each bottle
*Jonathan is still wearing newborn-size clothes but he won't be in them more than another week or two
*Jonathan sleeps from about 10:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. and then wakes up again around 5:30 a.m.
*8:00 p.m. t0 9:00 p.m. is a guaranteed fussy time
*Jonathan likes his baths now and has just started to kick his legs
*Jonathan has found his tongue so he pushes it out and in
*He's still a happy little guy and we love him endlessly!
