New Blanket

Jonathan's birthday is Saturday, but he received his first present in the mail yesterday from Shelbi and Daniel. Jonathan loved everything about it, including the box (which he pushed around the living room before we opened it).
As soon as we pulled the blanket out of the box, Jonathan climbed on it and started rolling around. He loves to rub his face against fuzzy things, which you'll see in this little video we shot:

Cousins

We took a trip to Idaho last weekend and while we were there, Jonathan got to play with a whole bunch of boy cousins. He thought it was the best thing ever! He joined right in on the rough-housing and dog-piled right on top of Rowdy, who is just about a year older than Jonathan.

New Places to Play

Jonathan is going through a stage of loving to crawl inside of containers of any shape and size. His most favorite place to play right now is the oven drawer. He can open the drawer on his own and can crawl in and out at will. He first discovered this trick last weekend when we were at Grandma Law's house and it didn't take him long at all to transfer this new skill to our house!

Charmer

Yesterday, Jonathan and I went shopping. While we were in a craft store, an older gentleman walked by and said hello to Jonathan and waved. Jonathan held up one hand to him like he was waving. We then proceded to a different part of the store. While I was choosing a photo album, I noticed the gentleman looking down the aisle at us. He had found his wife and brought her over to see Jonathan! When I looked at them, they said something about Jonathan being cute and then came over to talk with us. Jonathan gave the gentleman a double high five and then had to get out of the cart so the wife could hold him!
Today in church, Jonathan flirted with Sister Tischner, who was sitting in front of us in Sacrament Meeting. She took him and played with him for a little while but then gave him back when the meeting started because she had to lead the music. After the meeting was over, she spoke with us a little bit and Jonathan had to go to her. So she took him into the Primary room where she was playing the piano. I took Jonathan back when he tried to help her play the song, but when she left the room, she walked past us and Jonathan had to go to her again. She decided to take him to Relief Society with her, where they had a great time together! The little charmer!

Box Boy

Crawling into a box or the laundry basket is one of Jonathan's new favorite things to do. He's a big help when we're folding the clothes, as you can imagine! He "helps" by pulling the clothes out of the basket or by sitting on them!

11 Months Old

Jonathan is 11 months old now. He's kind-of a little squirt. He still wears 6-month size onesies and pants. We keep trying the nine-month size but he looks like he's drowning. He has two top teeth and one bottom tooth now. His other bottom tooth broke through this past week, thank goodness.
There are those top teeth!

Since Jonathan has been teething, he keeps his fingers in his mouth all the time. He likes to chew on his fingers and more especially likes to click his fingernails against his teeth.

Jonathan started balancing last week. He hasn't taken any steps but he's getting braver about letting go of things while he's standing.
