Does this little guy look like he could weigh 7 pounds? It's true, he does! He's put on two whole pounds in three weeks!

By the way, look what happens when I leave Jonathan alone with Daddy for a while...he ends up wearing a "daddy" shirt! (Thanks a lot, Auntie Steph!)

Chris laughed when he saw me using this little sling, but Jonathan and I liked it a lot! I got to use both of my hands as I puttered around the house and Jonathan liked it because he still got snuggled!

Hiccups! Jonathan gets the hiccups every day! One of our neighbors (who is an RN) mentioned that for the tiny or newborn babies in the hospital they wrap them all up and give them a binky. We've tried that strategy for the last couple of days, and while it doesn't keep Jonathan from getting the hiccups, at least it helps get rid of them much quicker!

Today was a cold, snowy day so that gave us a chance to use this fuzzy little outfit that we were given by Uncle Jack's sister Evelyn.

Jonathan talked to Grandma Vicki for the first time on the phone today. He didn't say anything but he did smile!

Daddy's trying to get a burp out of Jonathan. Jonathan used to give his burps up right away, but he's getting trickier about being burped.

Jonathan spends more and more time awake each day. We don't mind because then it helps him sleep more at night. Jonathan slept pretty well Friday night but last night he went to sleep at 10:30 then woke up at 12:30, 3:00, 5:00, 6:30....

Three Weeks Old!!

Jonathan and I attended a baby shower today thrown by my friends at Timpanogos Elementary. Everyone was so excited about Jonathan coming into our home that they were very kind and generous with their gifts. Look at all of these fun things for Jonathan!

Jonathan is three weeks old today.
He got to celebrate by having a million pictures taken of him!

Chris is used to me setting up the camera, pushing the self-timer button then running to get into position. Jonathan got to experience it for the first time today. This is the first picture of the three of us that I took using the self-timer.

Growing too fast!

Today might be the last day that Jonathan wears any of his premie-sized sleepers. As I got him dressed this morning, I noticed that it was a little harder to get the bottom of the sleeper snapped up. The sleeper was okay until we put Jonathan on the floor this evening to stretch and kick. That's when Jonathan's shoulder popped out (see the middle picture)! We changed him into a different sleeper so that he could really stretch. After we changed him, we also put Jonathan on his tummy. (He didn't really like that too much!) Anyway, I guess I'd better get all the use I can out of the premie-sized onesies that Auntie Shannon gave him because he's not going to be in those for too much longer, either!

Jonathan was awake for three hours at a time this morning! The doctor told us that he'd start waking up more when he was two weeks old and he was sure right!

Also, we've had to give him more in his bottle at night. He just couldn't last with two ounces per feeding so we made three-ounce bottles last night. That helped a lot. We fed him at 10:30 p.m. and then he woke up at 1:30 a.m., 5:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.! That's much better than waking up every two hours like he had been doing!

Jonathan weighed 6 pounds and 4 ounces today! Can you believe that? He's gained almost half of a pound in just three days!! He's starting to become more awake, too. He will stay awake for 30 to 60 minutes at a time. He's also starting to focus more. He will look you in the eyes or watch some little toys when we hang them above him.

Jonathan is two weeks old! He's gone through two packages of diapers and one large container of powdered formula. No wonder he's grown to 5 pounds and 13 ounces!
