Sleeping Bag

This sleeping bag has been around for a long time.  My grandma gave it to me when I was little, but I had forgotten about it until my brother found it this summer while we were cleaning out my mom's shop.  This sleeping bag has become Jonny's favorite thing to drag around the house.  He loves to wrap up in it, but he also asks to go for a ride, which means he climbs in and wants to be pulled around the house!  I've given up trying to put it away because he uses it so much.  It just hangs out on Jonny's rocking chair until he needs it!

Potty Training

We took a shot at potty training last fall, but it didn't take so I gave up until about three weeks ago. When I was at the store, buying diapers, I thought, "I'm really tired of diapers. This is the last box I'm going to buy." Luckily for me, the potty training is going MUCH better this time! Jonny wears his underwear and elastic-waist pants and rarely has an accident. Yea! But, as seen in the pictures, he loves to take his pants off and run around the yard with bare legs and bare feet!

What was the difference between last fall and now? He discovered that he loves to pee outside! He saw his cousins Rowdy and Tucker pee outside and he caught the hang of it. The only problem is that he will run to the back door before he will run to the bathroom. (Thank goodness we have a huge and private backyard!) And hopefully we can avoid embarrassing situations in public!

A Busy Week

We had a surprise 5 day visit from three of Jonny's cousins. They came into town on his birthday for their older brother's doctor's appointment and found out that he needed a surprise surgery! So while their parents were at the hospital, they stayed at our house.
Since Easter was around the corner, we had an early Easter egg hunt. Or, I should say we had several hunts. Chris hid the eggs around the yard while I kept the kids in the house and then we turned them loose. After they were done, they chose one thing to eat while Chris hid the eggs again! We did that two nights in a row so we ended up having about four hunts! But the finding is the best part, right?
We also set up the trampoline this week. It drew the kids outside, even on windy, cold days! (It also kept them busy while I worked on the yard!)

By the end of the week, the kids were exhausted. One day, while I was cooking dinner, the kids sat down to watch a movie. I noticed that Jonny was giving Kassidy a big hug while she was on the floor and I was surprised that he was there for so long. When I heard some deep breathing, I took a closer look. I found Tucker asleep in the rocking chair and Jonny asleep on top of Kassidy!

Happy Third Birthday!

Can you believe that Jonny turned three last week? Grandma Vicki made this cool Lightning McQueen cake for Jonny's birthday and we had a houseful of people over for cake and ice cream.

A lot of Jonny's cousins were able to come over.

Jonny got a bunch of toys for his birthday, a gardening set, some money and a pair of new Church shoes. The cap guns from Grandma Vicki were a big hit!
